GS CSR Model Overview:

1) Identification and qualification of quarries and factories:
  a. Start with large to medium suppliers which are more competitive and adaptive to international standards of production
  b. Identify suppliers' operation capacity and production standards in terms of quality, timely delivery and management
  c. Record the use of current usage of child labor, unsafe work conditions and environmentally dangerous production employed.
     
2) Supplier rating system:
  a. Develop a dynamic rating system which incorporates:
      i. Commercial Concerns
      ii. Social Concerns
  b. Update the supplier ratings with every order to reflect the improvements
in both commercial and social concerns.
     
3) Awarding of contracts to:
  a. Commercially capable suppliers which can provide competitive pricing,
high quality products in a timely manner
  b. Suppliers who promise to improve their operations towards achieving
higher standards both commercially and socially.
  c. Suppliers who continuously improve their rankings
     
4) Continuous inspection:
  a. Employ continuous inspection at processing site from the awarding
of the contract to shipment of goods to buyers.
  b. For each individual order awarded to a specific supplier, compare
the level of improvement in relations to initial state and during
the order process.
  c. Make periodic visits to factories to visit the facilities and compare
initial state vs. the time of inspection
     
5) Continuous evaluation and incremental goal setting for suppliers:
  a. After completion of each order, modify the supplier ranking to
reflect the improvements or problem areas from the initial supplier
rankings.
  b. After each evaluation, set future goals and time frame to be achieved
by the suppliers in terms of both commercial and social concerns.
     
6) Communication of GI Initiative to and collaboration with:
  a. Specifiers and architects to be aware of sensitive issues in the
natural stone quarrying and processing.
  b. Buyers to be aware of sensitive issues in the natural stone quarrying
and processing.
  c. Buyers to be collaborate and support in GS initiative
  d. Inform and collaborate with the importing country trade and government
agencies.
  e. Inform and collaborate with the exporting country trade and government
agencies.
  f. Inform the development companies and retail end users to be socially
responsible and take part in the GS initiative.
     
7) Internal and External Funding to the GI initiative:
  a. GS will dedicate 5% of its revenues to fund GS initiative internally
  b. GS will actively seek funding from importing and exporting country
trade and governments to fund the GS initiative
  c. GS will sell some natural stone products to solely promote and
fund the GS initiative
  d. GS will ask its buyers to make contributions and donations to the
GS initiative.
